Senna Theme: Key Features for a Clean & Focused Ghost Site
Everything Senna ships: seven color schemes, five post layouts, a complete set of page templates, and an app-like experience on phones.
Senna is a calm, paper-toned Ghost theme for writers. Serif display headings, soft rounded surfaces, and a single accent color you control — on desktop your site reads like a quiet magazine, on phones it behaves like an app. Here is what ships in the box, shown as it renders on this demo.
Seven color schemes
Pick one palette in Ghost admin and Senna carries it everywhere — cards, forms, code blocks, even the syntax-highlighting theme. A System option follows each visitor's device, switching between Default and Dark.

Default and Dark — the two faces of the System option

Tinted papers: Blush, Sage, and Mist keep the dark ink

Light and Midnight
- Dark brand assets: upload an alternate logo and site icon for the dark-toned schemes — the settings appear only when a dark scheme (or System) is selected.
- Readable by design: every palette is tuned for comfortable reading contrast, and a black accent remaps to near-white in the dark schemes so links and buttons stay visible.
- Preview without committing: open any page with ?color-scheme=midnight (or any scheme name) to see it before you save the setting.
Five post layouts
Every post picks its own opening from the template dropdown. The default leads with the text — a centered serif header flowing straight into the reading column — and the variants cover everything from boxed image panels to a cinematic full-width image and a video console.

Default — text first — and the Image Left panel

Image Right panel and the cinematic Image First

- No Image pins the default centered header as an explicit choice, even when a feature image is set.
- Table of contents on demand: tag any post #toc and a tick rail with a heading flyout builds itself from your headings — no shortcodes.
- A considered close: every post ends with previous/next cards, a subscribe section, comments, and a share dialog that leads with a link-preview card.
A complete site, not just a blog
Assignable page templates cover the rest of a publication — create a page, pick a template, done.

Membership pricing and the shop grid

Contact and the chrome-free sign-up page
- Membership fills itself in: the pricing grid reads your Ghost tiers — names, prices, benefits — and a tier with a free trial gets the highlighted treatment automatically.
- Shop from the editor: write the page with Ghost's product cards and they arrange themselves into the grid — bold text becomes the serif price line.
- Contact in one setting: paste a form endpoint (Formspree and friends) into theme settings and the contact template does the rest.
- Composed from regular pages: the home hero and every subscribe section read their copy from pages tagged #hero and #subscribe — edit them like any other content.
An app on phones
- A fixed tab bar — Home, Search, Menu, Join — replaces the hamburger menu below 1100px; there is no mobile top header, so content starts at the top of the screen.
- Native-feeling sheets: the menu, share dialog, and table of contents open as drag-to-close bottom sheets on phones and compact floating panels on tablets.
- Home-screen ready: installed to a phone's home screen, Senna keeps the app feel through — down to a status bar that matches your color scheme.
Details for readers
- A one-line tag filter row that folds overflow into a More menu, with Ghost's search a keystroke away (⌘K).
- A reading-progress bar on posts, full-screen lightbox for images and galleries, and automatic syntax highlighting with a matching dark code theme.
- Reduced-motion support throughout — animations and smooth scrolling stand down when a visitor's system asks for less.
